GDE Had a Barbecue for New Year Celebration Edit Date：2012/12/18

GDE employees had a barbecue and bicycle riding in Dafu Mountain Forest Park on December 15, 2012.

It was a god-given nice weather, sunny and cloudless. At nine in the morning, GDE employees left for Dafu Mountain Forest Park together by bus. Once they got to the park, they started to play games. The first game was cycle race, three persons a group, two males and one female from one department riding one bicycle. According to the route, the first arrival would be the winner.

After the Secretary of Youth League Committee gave an order, the race began. Each team tried their utmost to ride the bicycle, like a bat out of hell. Some teams worked together and shouted slogans all along the way, and some tried so hard that their bicycle was off chain. At last, the cycle race ended in everyone’s laughter and shouting. The first three teams won the prizes—chocolate. When the race was over, it came to 11o’clock and everyone was a little bit hungry. Then they went to the barbecue square.

There were many people scattering around the square, where was filled with a riot of sound. Smoke curled up from every the crowd. Everyone could not wait to light up the fire and sat in group around the barbecue grill in haste. Then all kind of foods were put on the grill. After a while, the whole barbecue square was full of the ambrosial aroma of the roasted foods. Not everyone was good at barbecuing. The foods they barbecued were cooked outside and raw inside. Someone could not tell until they had a bite. But some were really good at it. They mixed the favoring with the foods and wrapped them with silver paper. When the foods were roasted the ambrosial aroma spread out and attracted the others to come to grab and share. Besides, some were like a good wife cooking for others while some were as lazy as a pig and ‘stole’ foods from one grill to another. All of them enjoyed themselves very much. At 1:00pm, they finished the barbecue and went for a walk in threes and fours in the park till 3:00pm. Then the trip to the forest park was over and everyone went back to GDE by bus.

      It was not only a celebration for New Year coming, but also a chance for everyone to get rid of the pressure and exhaustion from work. They enjoyed the nature and joy of life. In this celebration, the employees cohered better than before and at the same time they felt the joy and happiness which would help them work better in future.
